CIRCUMSICION .... OUCH!

I still remember the day I mention to my dear Hubby that if we ever had a son I was totally opposed to make him go through a circumcision. We have always been very open about the way we wanted to raised our kids, I mean we knew that someday we were gonna have them, right?

When I finally got pregnant (and before I got totally sick)I kept looking online information about parenting and thing like it. Finally the oh so prohibit topic of Circumcision popped up. OK! let's see! I found so much information that I started to get dizzy, the Pros & Cons.... and finally I found a video... Promise you I wont make you watch it. I showed it to a cousin and she cried... just like me. That day when My sweet Hubby came home I sat him and showed him the video... he just watch half of it and stood up. " you make your point" he said.  We were so sure that we were gonna have a girl until 2 days before THAT ultrasound, I started to feel that it was a boy, I knew we needed to have some boys name ( just in case) and we set in stone the NO CIRCUMCISION.
As you know now, we had a boy and he is perfect! he has all that the Lord intended him to have!!
I am very happy to see how now even in the entertainment world is very clear how people feels about this kind of topics, is a relieve to see that they speak up and say the things as they are.
here is a quote from Russell Crowe position about Circumcision
Circumcision is barbaric and stupid. Who are you to correct nature? Is it real that GOD requires a donation of foreskin? Babies are perfect," the actor wrote.

WISHING LIST.

  • I wish I could be stronger physically so I could move every furniture in my house and clean under it with out having to take ibuprofen that night. walk and work out and never get tired.
  • I wish I could be able to read minds, so when I am driving I wont get mad at the other drivers that never learned how to use the signals and they decide to change lanes or turn.... and know what other people expects from me.
  • I wish I could sing! I know I can do it, but I would love to have a sweet voice to sing to my child and don't feel like I am torturing him in state of loving him.
  • I wish I had the super power or doing laundry, line dry and fold in the blink of an eye.
  • I wish I had somebody that will come and do my dishes ( I dislike this chore more than anything else)
  • I wish I could make my child so happy that he will know that the world is going to be a better place for his future.
  • I wish I could make all his dreams come true. but I can't
  • I wish I could assure him that he will be able to play in a park when he is 12 without the need of a oxygen tank. I can try to help with this.
  • I wish I could predict what is gonna happened in 20 years so he will be prepared. But I can't, all I can so is prepare him for life and make him be conscious of his decisions.
AND I WISH WE COULD ALL UNDERSTAND THAT BY CLOSING OUR EYES WE DON'T MAKE THE AIR, WATER AND EARTH POLLUTION DISAPPEARED.
we need to do something,
  • walk to the store in state of driving.
  • turn all light and appliances off when you are not using them or you are going out.
  • use cold water to do laundry, uses less energy.
there are some many things we all can do!

what is something you are doing to have a better world for the future generations??

Count your many blessings... even if you can't leave Home!

More than gracious is the fact that now I can not only find all the information I need and I don't need to take a book out of the shelf or walk to the library ( but I miss books some times), now I even can find the product, the info.... and compare stores, prices, shipping fees, sizes, etc!!
Now that we are totally into cloth diapering ( no turn back now) we need to change some other things, in this case is the very necessary diaper rash cream. When I decided to go back to cloth diapers I knew was because is economic ( long run), way better for the environment and because it help with the potty training process ( PRICELESS!).

So, going back with the whole diaper rash cream, the very first one that little JJ used was a french brand that my parents brought from Mexico (yes, Mexico has a lot of foreign products) and he was doing fine with it, so we found it here in the States too so my sweet Hubby got more, but in between creams we got some other popular brands that have Zinc Oxide. We started to notice that he started to cry every time we were covering his tender bottom with any of this creams... SOMETHING HAS TO CHANGE.. AND FAST!! and this is how we get to this point.... WONDROUS Internet shopping!!
I looked in all this places where you know for sure you are gonna find baby products for the so soft baby bottom, I looked and looked and compared a LOT! and then I got to this site www.Alice.com and I have to say that I am in love!!! free shipping ALWAYS!! I love it and I want it to share it with y'all!! hope you enjoy the shopping like I do... even that sometimes is just window shopping... better that therapy!!

HAPPY TUESDAY TO ALL!!

P.S. I bought it today and today was already shipped... AND FREE!! I will review the diaper balms and soon as I get them!!

10 wonderful months and a total change of life!!

Yes, today my sweet son is 10 months old... and I was just trying to think what I was doing a year ago and I really couldn't remember. Let me explain myself, I had a very rough time during my pregnancy, it was hard for me to enjoy it!! I got pregnant just when my Wonderful Hubby lost his job and was starting a new one!! we couldn't believe it!! after trying for a year we just decided to take a break and then is when the miracle happened.
I was 4 week and everything was ok, just tired, maybe dizzy and one night.... after eating a wonderful Cobb salad ( Bonefish was my fav restaurant for that salad... not anymore) I got very sick... nausea and vomit...OH NO!! my baby does not like salad! was my first thought but things changed after that night. I started to be more and more sick, I was to the point of not been able to eat without throwing up! I was in bed for almost 5 months and once and ended up in the hospital for dehydration. It was not my favorite time and I the harder I tried to bond with my baby the harder it got. But after all those months of losing weight and been in seclusion, I started to be ok... never as before, I was to scared to eat and then had to run to the bathroom to throw up!
I knew everything was gonna be ok, even thou I was so sick, I tried to eat some here and there, so my baby was fine and he was growing perfectly!! it was just me the one that was just bones!!
Now, after explaining all this I guess you can imaging why I really didn't have any idea of what I was doing a year ago, lol. I am so happy for my little boy, it helps me to always set high goals! to always reach for the best for us as a Family. Now I am more conscious of every decision that I have to take... PAPER OR PLASTIC?? CLOTH OR DISPOSABLE?? FORMULA OR BREAST MILK?? DRIVE OR WALK?? LOCAL OR IMPORTED??  they are so many decisions that can impact my child's ( children someday) life and future!! now we always tried to have our own "green bags" when we go shopping, we r using cloth diapers, we filter our water so we don't have to buy plastic bottles, this are just some actions that we are taking so we can offer not only a good life to our family but the opportunity to be able to enjoy the same things that we did and do!!

WHAT ARE SOME THINGS THAT HAVING A CHILD HAS CHANGE IN YOUR EVERYDAY LIFE????

Hello!

One night, while going through the many coupon websites that visit, I started to think and pray in my heart for another way to help our family save money and be happy at the same time.... and the same thought that came to me while I was pregnant with Jerico came again... "CLOTH DIAPERS"!! So I decided to check out some websites and I saw that the very next day was gonna take place "The Great cloth Diaper Change. and in that very moment I started to look for a place locally where I could go and be part of this great movement. I Started to get some gDiapers while I was pregnant, so when JJ was born he was using this cloth diapers but when I ended up by myself with a new born and a house moving situation I totally fell apart and went for disposables. but that night when I read about the great cloth diaper change I decided to go back, I have some pocket diapers that I purchase from a friend and my gdiapers. So at 9 months old my sweet boy returned to the comfort and glory of cloth diapers!!! I found this pretty boutique A Nurturing Moment near my home that was gonna be able to host and be part of the change, in that moment I signed up and started to get so excited.
So the next morning I got ready and my baby to go and be part of this event!! I was so happy to be able to be with other cloth diapering moms!! IT WAS AMAZING!! I forgot that the change was to a cloth diaper and I brought a disposable insert... so stupid of me! but thank goodness a friend from church was there and she lend me one of her inserts! and she explained to me that she make her own.... mmmm I started to think, for a moment I totally asked her to make mine, that I would pay for it.... but then, My Sweet Hubby told me that I can do it... and guess what? HE WAS RIGHT!! so Sister Kaestner got me what I needed to make them and kinda explained me how to do it... I did it! and that day I got some GroVia Hybrid diaper shells... and now I am in total love!!! I am extremely happy to be back to cloth diapering!! I am just starting and we really can't afford much so i am doing laundry almost everyday, but is just the beginning, hopefully soon we will be able to get more shells so we can have more days without the laundry! I got 2 Kawaii and 1 bumgenious to try them and see if I like them... but I am very much in love with GroVia so we'll see!!
